hello all.
I'm a very quiet person on the zone but decided to use this platform for my query. I'm Farhan from Pakistan, totally blind and graduated in mass communication degree. I have an aim of traveling to US and to know if there is any rehab center that would offer me an international scholarship or at least somewhat finance me for my training? My aim is to come to US, for my further studies in the computer science as well as to know more about How blind people live independently. I don't have any family member there who could be of any help to me. I'm hoping you will be able to offer some advice or at least some assistance in this regard. Looking forward to all of your responses.

My advice would be to google for rehabilitation centers, particularly privately run ones as opposed to state run, and contact them directly. Good luck.

I know some of the centers run by the National Federation of the Blind have offered scholarships to international students before. I can do some asking around, and see what you'd have to do to get one. If you want to google to learn more, those centers are the Colorado Center for the blind, the Louisiana Center for the Blind, and Blind Incorporated, which is in the state of Minnesota.

Hello sister Dawn, Thanks for your answer. I will appreciate if you can ask them about it and I will also try to google it and see what I can found. since you may be a member of nfb, they may give you more info.

Yes, I am an NFB member, and because I'm a CCB graduate, I know some of the staff there still. I've got some messages in with people, and will let you know what I find out.

my suggestion is to PM people you want to talk to.
I don't think people get notifications for boardposts.
